Are You Ready?
End of the year compliance reporting is approaching quickly – ARE YOU READY?
This time of year brings images of gatherings with friends and family, shopping for that perfect gift and getting ready for the holidays. But underlying it all is the presence of end of the year compliance reporting. Don’t get caught!
Many out-of-state direct to consumer license renewals are due November 30th and December 31st, so check your permits and make sure you have those on your calendar and mail or submit them in plenty of time for processing.
Once those are out of the way, you can make it through the holidays worry-free but come the New Year, remember that Year-end, Quarterly and Monthly reporting are due in January, including:
Report of Wine Premises Operations
Excise Tax Return
Winegrower’s Tax Return
Don’t forget:
If your North Dakota Year-end Report is late, there is a MAJOR PENALTY! File it by January 15th.
Ohio State and Cuyahoga County Excise Annual Reports are due January 18th, so hop right on those when you get back to the office on January 2nd!
Special Notes:
New York - Please make sure you are permitted to ship to New York as the liquor commission in New York is now asking common carriers to check packaging for wine shipments. FedEx (through your fulfillment houses, if applicable) may be requesting copies of all permits and/or licenses from their winery clients, so be prepared.
Check your reporting structures – many states will reevaluate towards year end as to when your reports for the following year will be due; monthly, quarterly, annual – make note of any changes on your 2017 calendar.
Have you registered to ship to Pennsylvania? We have waited a long while for this opportunity and PA makes the registration process easy, so hop on board and get your permit!
